What's on offer
A paid writing opportunity to work on a co-production between Lewis and Ho Productions and SEED, a London based company, to adapt author Gordon Lewis’ book Little Peopleinto a vertical drama series.
The initial brief is a 6 x 3 minute ‘mobile-first’ series based on the book’s first chapter.
Payment is offered on a buyout basis - fee to be negotiated.
The project is being developed for streaming platforms, with potential to expand into further series content.
What they are looking for
Irish writers who can create short, snappy episodes rooted in Irish folklore and mythology.
Writers with an authentic Irish ear for dialogue and mannerisms, especially for characters drawn from myth.
Writing that captures the tone of Little People while working in a fast, mobile-first format designed for streaming platforms.
Who can apply
Irish writers aged 18+.
Emerging and early-career writers are welcome, provided they can share a portfolio, showreel or examples of previous work.
Applicant should create a pitch on SMASH of work that showcases their suitability for this assignment
What you need to include in your SMASH Pitch
Your SMASH Snapshot must include at minimum:
Logline
Format; Genre; Setting; Runtime
Brief Biog of you as a writer
Synopsis with all major plot points — set up; inciting incident; rising conflict; mid story twist; crisis; climax and resolution.
Creative vision - use this section to pitch your suitability as a writer for this assignment. Explain how you would approach writing for a Vertical drama
Please attach a script.
If you have a showreel, a link to completed short or any other material that shows off your suitability as a writer please attach to the pitch.
Any projects submitted without this information will not be accepted.
