Are you a young Black British filmmaker with a bold story to tell?
The Young Black Filmmakers Fund is a competition exclusively designed to encourage and support young Black filmmakers across the UK with a prize fund up to the value of 10k.
Created by Alex Kayode-Kay multi-award-winning, BAFTA-nominated filmmaker and Patron of the London Breeze Film Festival this programme offers one selected team the chance to receive £10,000 funding, hands-on industry mentorship, and a UK premiere at The Ritzy Picturehouse during the 2026 London Breeze Film Festival.

Submission Details:
Deadline: 1st August 2025
Shortlist Announced: 1st October 2025
To be eligible, you must submit:
A 10–12 page script
A filmmaking team with at least a writer, director, and producer
A proposed budget (max £5,000)
At least one team member aged 18–30
At least two of the three team members must be Black British, including either the writer or director
Pitching Event:
Shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to a private workshop at London Breeze Film Festival (October 2025) to develop their pitch, before presenting to a panel of industry judges and a live audience.
